Soul Roots Allspice

Allspice is known as a star of Levantine cooking, making its appearance in savory meat, fish and poultry dishes as well as vegetarian and rice dishes. My Taita loved using it in her favorite hashweh rice recipe. A sort of mix of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, Allspice imparts its delicious aroma and lively flavor in rice dishes as well. It is known to possibly reduce inflammation, protect the gastrointestinal system and improve mood. It is a staple in any Mediterranean kitchen, adding depth to many of our most traditional dishes.
